Neon Photoshoot with Zion Lights Founder of Emergency Reactor

We were so happy to welcome Zion Lights into the studio, she wanted cosmic, out of this world neon GLORY in her photographs and I delivered! If you want bright, I’m ya girl!

I had a quick chat with Zion to delve into how she found her photoshoot, and how her business is doing since receiving the photographs:

Please tell everyone a little about you and what you do!

I'm a published author, Science Communicator, and I am known for my environmental advocacy work. I'm also a keen astronomer and have given a TED talk on stargazing. I am the former Editor of The Hourglass, Extinction Rebellion's print newspaper, and am a former spokesperson for the group. I have now started a new climate activist organisation called Emergency Reactor.

What were you struggling with before we worked together - why did you need new photos?

I was struggling to capture myself in a way that showed the combination of being a professional who talks about data and research, but also an ordinary person who is an activist.

Why did you decide to work with me rather than another photographer?

You were recommended to me by a friend, and as soon as I saw the boldness of your other photographs I knew that you'd do a great job in capturing who I am.

What stood out to you as exceptional about our work together?

I have done quite a few photoshoots over the years and this was the first time I actually enjoyed the experience and - dare I say it - had fun!

What results have you achieved since working with me? Eg being featured in any media coverage?

The photographs have been well received and used in several newspapers and magazines by editors already!
